How to pick the best car detailer in Jacksonville
Detailing prices in this market run from about $60 to well over $600 for what looks like the same thing. Here is how to tell the difference before you hand over the keys.
Six things worth asking

Ask if they will walk the car with you before they start.
Most detailers take the keys and get to work. A walkaround first means you both agree on what the car actually looks like, what is realistic, and what it will cost, before any money is on the table. Skip it and you are relying on two people's memory at the end of a four hour job.

Ask what is actually in the package, step by step.
Most menus say things like full interior and exterior. That can mean a vacuum and a wipe, or it can mean brushes into every seam and a clay bar on the paint. Ask for the list. If nobody can give you one, the price is not comparable to anyone else's.

Work out the price per hour, not the sticker price.
A $150 detail that takes 45 minutes is more expensive than a $250 detail that takes three hours. Divide the price by the hours quoted. That number tells you whether you are buying a rinse or actual labor.

Check that they carry insurance.
Someone is running a machine polisher against your paint in your driveway. Ask if they are insured and do not feel awkward about it. Anyone real will answer immediately.

Be careful with the coating upsell.
A multi-year ceramic coating is a real product, but it only makes sense on corrected paint and it is a big spend. If your car is just dirty, a wash with a sealant or a spray ceramic gets you most of the visible result for a fraction of the money.

Ask what they will not do.
A detailer who says yes to everything is either very well equipped or not being straight with you. The good ones will happily tell you which jobs they send elsewhere.
